Capital Cooking is the first television show of its kind. DC is more than just Congress, but it is also a great place for cuisine! The nation's capital is unique among American cities. Like San Francisco, Chicago or New York, it's home to its residents, an anchor for the surrounding region and a destination for people from around the world. Capital Cooking gives viewers an inside look into our nation’s capital and Lauren DeSantis hits the streets to find out what Washingtonians consider “DC cuisine.” Lauren will demonstrate cooking tips centered around life in DC featuring regional cuisine from all areas of the country as well as international dishes. Lauren will cook with local chefs and provide questions that viewers may be asking about how to make recipes with ingredients that viewers can find at local grocery stores. Viewers will learn fine points of completing the recipes which are designed to be fresh, moderately easy to prepare and colorful. The show is filmed in various locations throughout DC.
